Cops LAC rallies as Rake premieres to middling ratings

After the ignominy of being dumped from primetime, Nine’s Cops LAC has rallied in its later timeslot for a second successive week.

Thursday night saw the police drama rate an average audience of 599,000 for its 9.30pm episode and 410,000 for its 10.30pm episode, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.

The previous week the 9.30 episode had rated 560,000 which had itself been an improvement on the week before that’s 487,000.

In primetime it was a bad night for Australian made programming on the commercial networks. Seven’s Beauty And the Geek Australia (931,000); Nine’s Getaway (858,000), Ten’s Keeping Up With the Joneses (909,000), Bondi Vet (923,000)  and Rush (773,000) all failed to rate above 1m.

Meanwhile, ABC1’s new legal drama Rake, which the broadcaster had heavily promoted, rated 900,000, tenth for the night.
