Doug Pitt Street

Dr Mumbo is a fan of Virgin Mobile’s Fair Go Bro campaign featuring Brad Pitt’s brother Doug. He especially likes the brand’s cheeky attempt to rebrand Pitt Street.

Sydney Mayor Clover Moore apparently said yesterday that she liked the idea to permanently rebrand the street – but it wasn’t going to happen.

  12. My direct first-hand experience is that if you’re a Virgin Mobile customer, you’re gonna get screwed. They offer what appear to be good deals and good prices, but little tricks like twenty-nine day months and not-quite-what-you-expected billing rules mean that bill shock is de rigeuer.

If Virgin Mobile didn’t spend so much money on these expensive and inane ‘promotions’, they could afford to be decent and treat their customers well, and honestly, instead of ripping and rorting at every juncture.

Australia is a small market, you can only screw so many customers before word gets around and your business crashes and burns. Virgin Mobile is on the road to ruin here.

  14. I think you’re alone there Hugh. It’s a great idea and the fact they actually managed to get the brother of the most famous man in the world to star in it is massive.

It definitely agrees with my stupid sense of humour.

  16. When was the last time you got the mayor of Sydney commenting on an ad campaign?
