Hollywood stars gets tough on canine contraband
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have provided Australia with a new, soon-to-go-viral biosecurity ad.
Filmed for the Australian Department of Agriculture, Depp and Heard apologise for bringing their dogs Pistol and Boo into the country last year and failing to declare them.
The pair apparently agreed to the video after Magistrate Bernadette Callaghan ruled that a conviction was not necessary but that a video apology to all Australians for putting the country’s biosecurity at risk would prove more useful than any punishment she could order.
It seems Magistrate Callaghan did not instruct the actors “to really sell like it like you believe it” as they recite their lines with an odd, wooden delivery.
Unsurprisingly, Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, who threatened to kill Pistol and Boo, was among the first to post the video.
Dr Mumbo predicts this video is about to receive plenty of free media, globally, throughout the next 24 hours…
Some advertising, as they say, you just can’t buy.
Update April 19: Dr Mumbo also gives full point to Youtuber Natalie Tran for this spoof where shes cuts up the Depp/Heard video and shows what may have been going on behind the scenes:
LOLOL! Love the spoof. Even without it, it sounds like he says “Australians are just as unique, both warm and ERECT.” (not Direct)

I’m working up an animated feature called ‘Pistol and Boo escape to Kakadu — Barnaby’s worst nightmare.
I see it as a product placement opportunity from hell for the Goldie and the ‘Worlds’. See my Linked In posts for storyboards.
