Foxtel cooks up deal with Matt Moran
Sydney celebrity chef Matt Moran has moved into pay TV with his own show.
Foxtel today announced it had signed premier chef and restaurateur, Matt Moran, to host a new show on the LifeStyle Channel in 2013.
From Paddock to Plate, will take Matt back to his roots in country Australia, where his lifelong obsession of using nothing but the very best produce began.
Duane Hatherly, General Manager, LifeStyle Channels and Head of Production said: “We at the LifeStyle Channel are absolutely thrilled to be working with Matt Moran and ITV Studios Australia to create his first solo television project.
“Not only is Matt one of Australia’s most recognised and successful chefs but he is a passionate advocate of local providores, quality produce and an over-arching respect for the land and the processes involved in food production. This is also something that rings true with us, so it’s fitting if not perfect that Matt Moran finds his new home on LifeStyle.”
Matt will explore diverse regions of the country in search of their finest produce, and the people who create it. From Paddock to Plate will have food at its heart and get under the skin of the people, and the places, where Matt finds it.
Matt said: “I grew up on a farm, and the land is where my real passion for food was born. I’m obsessed with using nothing but the best quality ingredients I can find, both at home and in my restaurants; it really is the secret to great cooking – always start with great produce.
“We live in such a beautiful country that produces some of the best quality food in the world. I’m looking forward to exploring it, to discover and cook with some new and exciting ingredients. And meet the people and producers who share my passion.”
Matt Moran, who has just opened his latest venture, Riverbar and Kitchen in Brisbane, joins a raft of local LifeStyle Channel industry experts including; architect, Peter Maddison; property expert, Andrew Winter; interior designer, Shaynna Blaze, and landscape designer, Charlie Albone.
From Paddock to Plate is developed and produced exclusively for the LifeStyle Channel, by ITV Studios Australia.
