Masterchef outrates The Logies
The head-to head scheduling of the series launch of Masterchef against The Logies hurt both brands on Sunday night with ratings down for both.
Masterchef was top program for the night, with 1.569m viewers on Ten. However this was behind the second series debut of 1.692m in 2010.
Meanwhile, The audience for The Logies on Nine continues to decline, down from 1.4m last year to 1.323m, according to preliminary over night metro ratings from OzTam.

I thought Masterchef was very, very average last night. I guess they were trying to appeal to the normal everyday families by making contestants create meals out of standard cheap ingredients like mince, tomato and potato…but it just turned out to be 50 versions of boring meals. I think they’ll quickly realise people don’t watch the show to see someone cook what they’ve just made for dinner. If they did, 2 million people would be watching Ready, Steady Cook every day.

Thought the calibre of the contestants were pretty average in comparison to other years when we first saw the top 50. Do hope this isn’t a sign of things to come and that the characters come forth sooner than later otherwise they have lost me.

How much did Channel Nine pay to get Karl S to win the logies. is there a more overrated personality on TV at the moment? He is downright embarrassing with his comments. Kochie must be fuming!

I have really enjoyed previous episodes of Masterchef, However last night was just a panic by channel 10 to cram as many self promo adverts in. Because of the duration and the amount of adverts I put out he rubbish, did a couple of chores during the umpteen breaks and didn’t miss a thing, if this contiunes I’ll be watching it on the net.
