Nine wins in tight Thursday ratings battle

Seven and Nine finished Thursday night in a virtual dead heat, with ratings shares of 25.5 per cent and 25.6 per cent respectively.

Seven’s performance was driven by My Kitchen Rules, which rated 1.679m, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM.

Meanwhile, Nine’s live NRL game between Parramatta Eels v Canterbury Bulldogs almost won in Sydney, where it rated 418,000, only just behind MKR’s 422,000.

Nine’s The Block: All Stars was second biggest show for the night, rating 1.304m.

Ten’s Thursday lineup again failed to fire, with a share of 9.4%. However, this was a slight improvement on last Thursday’s dismal 7.3 per cent. Ten’s best performer in all people was News At Five with 639,000 viewers while double episodes of Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals rated 299,000 and 306,000. Ten pointed out it had eight shows in the top 20 most watched among under-50s.

ABC1 was third for the night with a 12 per cent share.

In the morning battle, Seven’s Sunrise beat Nine’s Today 369,000 to 352,000.
