Officeworks unveils new website

Officeworks has revealed its new website that is designed to make online shopping easier across tablet, desktop and mobile devices. The website has been 12 months in the making and features a simplified navigation and checkout system.

The announcement:

Australia’s biggest office supplies retailer, Officeworks, has just unveiled its new and improved website, giving customers a better online shopping experience by making it even easier to search, browse and buy more than 20,000 products on desktop, tablet or mobile.

Officeworks’ Managing Director, Mark Ward, commented “The website is our largest trading store, so we continually make significant investments to ensure that our online shopping experience is as seamless as possible for our customers.

“Technology is continually evolving the way consumers connect with retailers. This new platform is an important leap forward for our business, and provides a solid platform for additional enhancements and innovation in the future.

“Having delivered double digit online sales growth for nine consecutive halves, our new and improved website will further advance our position as one of Australia’s most successful every-channel retailers,” he concluded.

The website has evolved dramatically since launching 2008. Based on customer research and the development of a new Product Information Management system and eCommerce platform, officeworks.com.au has significantly improved from a performance, accessibility and design point of view.

Developed in-house by a dedicated project group of 30 team members over a 12 month period, the new platform features a cleaner layout and simplified headings and imagery. As a result, scrolling is reduced and navigation is easier, making for quicker access to the information customers are looking for.

Highlights of the new and improved site include:

  • Set your store – select a preferred local store, allowing personalised information to be listed, including services and stock availability, as well as opening hours and in-store events.
  • Delivery info – the addition of a delivery tab also lets customers enter their postcode to obtain costs and delivery time frames based on their location.
  • Easier checkout – a simplified checkout process now has four easy steps – Login, Cart, Delivery and Payment – with product suggestions and stock levels provided for a more convenient shopping experience.
  • Business customers – benefit from an easier account sign-up process, and are able to view the full account balance in the checkout page.
  • Account customers – have full visibility of account balance details and alternative payment options when checking out.
