Radio Ratings: Adelaide – Mix 102.3 climbs again to dominate top spot as other stations fall

The Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) Mix102.3 experienced another gain in audience share to hold onto the lead with a 15.8 per cent audience share, up 1.1 per cent from the last ratings period according to the latest ratings from Nielsen.

Mix102.3 gained listeners across all timeslots with Fun Breakfast with Jodie, Mark and Snowy maintaining its lead with a 0.4 per cent share gain, securing a 13 per cent share of the audience.

Meanwhile DMG owned Adelaide stations Nova91.9 and Fiveaa lost listeners at breakfast although Nova’s Dylan Lewis and Shane Lowe dropped by just 0.1 share points to 10. Outgoing Fiveaa breakfast duo Keith Conlon and Jane Reilly dropped 0.8 share points from 14.5 to 13.7.

DMG’s group program manager Paul Jackson said there is “a lot of work going on” with Fiveaa and they are “refreshing that breakfast show”  with former Daily Telegraph editor David Penberthy announced as a new host from January, which he said he expects to “lead a good recovery for Fiveaa next year”.

ABC891’s Breakfast with Matthew Abraham and David Bevan lost 0.3 per cent share points but continued its breakfast dominance with a 17.1 per cent share of the audience.

Mix also saw gains in the drive slot for Sean Craig Murphy gaining one point to take a 15.6 per cent share of the audience, while Nova’s drive show with Meshel, Tim and Marty fell by 1.1 per cent share points, to 12.7.

Fiveaa’s sports show with Stephen Rowe and Chris McDermott slipped by 2.3 share points from a 13.4 per cent audience share to 11.1 per cent.

Nova announced in November Meshel Laurie will leave the drive show to host Nova’s breakfast show in Melbourne from next year. Nova confirmed Tim Blackewll and Marty Sheargold will return in the drive time slot next year.

In the evening slot from 7pm until midnight Nova edged in on the ABC’s share with a 14.7 per cent audience share just behind ABC1 ‘s 14.8 per cent. Fiveaa’s Paul Makin recorded a 0.3 per cent gain lifting to a 10.4 per cent share of the audience.
