Sydney Light Rail Network outsources media sales to TorchMedia

TorchMediaTorchMedia has secured the rights to sell internal and external media on the Sydney Light Rail Network as the network out-sources its media sales for the first time.

For the out-of-home specialist the win follows the loss of the Woolworths in-store advertising account last month.

TorchMedia says the win is an “important addition” to its existing Eastern Seabord transit offering, with the company already holding the external rights to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane rail.

“TorchMedia entered into the transit arena over three years ago with a clear mandate to develop our mainstream out-of-oome assets. The addition of the Sydney Light Rail Network to the TorchMedia portfolio is a logical step and we’re excited by the exposure it will offer advertisers to the hard to reach Inner Western Suburbs,” said Kirsty Dollisson, TorchMedia general manager.

Previously the media was booked by Transdev Sydney, the operators of the Sydney Light Rail.

The Sydney Light Rail Network is in the process of expanding, with the construction of the 12km CBD and South East Light Rail to be completed in 2019.
