A change of guard at STW Group creative agencies Ogilvy and JWT has led to the appointment of Nathan Quailey as general manager of Ogilvy’s Sydney office.

Quailey replaces Richard Carr, who has moved to JWT to take on the same role there after more than a decade with Ogilvy.

Andrew Baxter, CEO of Ogilvy Australia, said: “Richard has been with Ogilvy for more than 10 years and has made a significant contribution to our business and staff development. We’re incredibly pleased that he can stay within the STW family to  further develop his career and take on new challenges; one of the many benefits of being part of a strong and successful group.”

In a separate move, JWT Melbourne’s highly regarded head of planning Angela Morris has been promoted to the newly created national role of executive planning director, with responsibility for planning across the Melbourne, Sydney and new Perth office.

Meanwhile, Ogilvy has appointed Leigh Bignell to support Quaily in the new role of executive business director. He will also continue to work running the Nestlé, NSW Government and Purina accounts.

Another move at JWT sees the promotion of Jenny Willits to Sydney client services director. She replaces Rob Nichol who has returned home to the UK for personal reasons.

JWT Australasia CEO John Gutteridge said: “It’s been a terrific year, we now have an incredibly strong team of talent across the board. Everyone has worked hard this year to realise our goals, creating a world-class offering in the process. We’ve made no compromises this year with new talent, recognising our people are our greatest asset.”

“New business this year has inevitably resulted in growth and even more diversification in our capabilities. Critically though, we have and will continue to maintain and build on the wonderful, and unique, culture we have as an agency.”
