Triple squeeze for Nine in Wednesday ratings

It was a tough night in the Wednesday ratings for Nine which, squeezed by competition from Australia’s Got Talent on Seven, Masterchef on Ten and Angry Boys on ABC1, found much of its programming stuck below the 800,000 mark.

Only Nine News and A Current Affair passed 1m, with a repeat of The Big Bang Theory bringing in 801,000, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam.

Australia’s Got Talent won the night, with 1.519m, ahead of Masterchef (1.401m) and Angry Boys (1.346m).

It was a reasonable night for SBS1 show East West 101, which pulled in 220,000 viewers.
