Friday on My Mind Melbourne – Adam Elliot
Clayographies, Ernie Biscuit and Adam Elliot
Melbourne based Academy Award-winning filmmaker Adam Elliot has described his film work as clayographies; bittersweet adult clay biographies based on his family, friends and acquaintances. Using only traditional stop motion and photographic techniques to create his work–with every prop, set and character hand crafted from clay, cardboard, wire and paint–Adam has created six animated films that include, Mary and Max, Harvie Krumpet, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, and his latest work Ernie Biscuit, the second installment of the Harvie Krumpet trilogy about a deaf Parisian taxidermist. Ernie Biscuit had its world premiere recently in the Dendy Awards section of the 2015 Sydney Film Festival and is set to screen at MIFF and also compete at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France next month.
Adam Elliot’s films have been voiced by some of the world’s leading actors including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Geoffrey Rush, Barry Humphries, Eric Bana and Toni Collette, and have screened in over 800 film festivals around the world, accumulating over 100 awards such as the 2004 Short Animation Academy Award for Harvie Krumpet.
Adam will share his particular approach and ideas about the craft of filmmaking and wearing all of the creative hats.
