ADF Careers pulls back the curtain on Defence Force life, via VML and COLLIDER

ADF Careers has launched a new campaign that brings viewers into the unique, high-energy worlds of ADF personnel, via VML and COLLIDER.

Having redesigned its recruitment site last month, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) has now expanded on its recruitment efforts with its ‘Unlike any other job’ brand platform.

Using a COLLIDER-produced, Rupert Sanders-directed hero film that captures the professional and personal experiences of ADF workers overseas and within Australia, the campaign was developed to show the broad range of defensive careers the ADF offers, covering space, air, cyber, land and maritime divisions. The footage also highlights the advanced technology used by the ADF.

Ultimately, the platform’s goal is to inform young Australians of the financial security and meaningful work a career in defence can provide.

“We know that young Australians want a career with purpose and be able to make a real contribution to the world around them,” revealed Fiona Boughton, Defence Force Recruiting’s general manager, marketing.

“This campaign really highlights the many ways in which people can make a difference to themselves and to their country. The ADF is a unique and rewarding and we are looking to attract people with a diverse range of skills and experiences.”

VML’s creatice director, James Wills, agreed with Boughton’s sentiment.

He said: “When working with Defence Force personnel and listening to their stories, one thing becomes clear: it really is a job unlike any other. It’s a career full of purpose that offers extraordinary experiences, and it was a privilege bringing this campaign to life with Rupert, the team at COLLIDER, and Photoplay photographer, Adam Ferguson.”

The campaign is in market nationwide across several channels, including events, digital, cinema, TV, 3D out of home, digital audio and social.

“This is a campaign platform we are extremely proud to bring it to life in partnership with the ADF Careers team,” Thomas Tearle, VML ANZ’s chief executive officer.

“It encapsulates our advertising mission: to show that an ADF career is unlike any other and has something to offer Australians, enabling them to make an impact both personally and professionally.

“The campaign itself will have a huge impact and we’re looking forward to building on it over the coming months,” he concluded.
