Blackmores launches AI Well Bot to help consumers achieve New Year’s resolutions
Blackmores has launched a new chatting device, Well Bot, as part of its Australian Open ‘Being a Well Being’ campaign – helping consumers stick to their 2017 New Year’s resolutions.
In collaboration with Bastion EBA, the initiative launches today through Facebook Messenger and SMS, allowing consumers to chat to Blackmores’ Well Bot for a personalised 2017 Wellbeing Plan.
Using artificial intelligence technology, the Wellbeing Plan aims to help users conquer their New Year’s resolutions. Before a consumer begins interacting with the bot, the description on Facebook Messenger explains:”Whether you’re looking for advice about nutrition, exercise, mindfulness or beauty from within, the Blackmores’ Well Bot can help you take action and Choose to Be a Well Being”.
The Bot continues: “Think of me as a personal trainer…just without the abs and lycra, sound good?”, giving you the interactive option to click ‘Oh yeah’ or ‘Not really’.
Nutrition, exercise, mindfulness and inner-beauty is the prime focus for the interactive messaging device, personalising its responses to the individual consumer and providing appropriate tips and action plans fit for their lifestyle.
The Bot will also be present at the Australian Open where visitors will be able to meet Well Bot at eight kiosks, giving the consumer super-food samples for their personalised wellbeing responses.
As part of the ‘Being a Well Being’ campaign, Well Bot will also give consumers discount codes for Blackmores products.
Dave Fenlon, managing director at Blackmores, said: “Fans both on the ground and those enjoying the tennis around the country will have the chance to interact with our wellbeing coach to help them with achieving their wellbeing goals for 2017. It’s the perfect time of year to think about your health and what choices you want to make in the year ahead.”
Could Mumbrella please, for the love of 2017, refrain from throwing the word ‘AI’ into everything and anything? Super campaign from Blackmores, but this is frankly just an autopilot or a simple programmed/scripted chatbot and thus isn’t ‘intelligent’, let alone pass Turing test.
