Extra session announced: Guardian Australia, Howatson+Co to join Mumbrella Publish Conference
Mumbrella Publish Conference 2022 has added an extra session ahead of its kick-off next on Wednesday, 31 August. Speaking alongside Chris Howatson of Howatson+Co, Jocelin Abbey of Guardian Australia will examine the publisher’s Australian growth strategy.
Guardian Australia is approaching the ten-year mark since it entered the Australian market in 2013. As one of the successful international publishers that has managed to gain audience growth and affinity locally, Guardian Australia is looking at a new phase of growth.
In July, the publisher launched its first-ever brand platform via Howatson+Co and an editorial partnership with JCDecaux. With a multi-year strategy in place, Abbey, director of growth of Guardian Australia, and Howatson, founder and CEO of Howatson+Co, will provide an overview of how the publisher sets to establish itself as a trusted news source at a moment when trust in media is at an all-time low.
Guardian Australia will join the existing speaker lineup from leading publishers including Jane Huxley (CEO, Are Media), Luke Girgis (CEO, The Brag Media), Sam Koslowski, Zara Seidler (co-founders, The Daily Aus), Nick Shelton (founder & publisher, Broadsheet), Misha Ketchell (editor, The Conversation) and many more.
The conference will take place at Amora Hotel Jamison, Sydney. The Publish Awards will be held the day after, on 1 September at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf.
