GroupM creates employee sponsorship program to encourage further workplace diversity

Media investment company GroupM has launched the GroupM Path program to help accelerate the careers of high-performing individuals.

The announcement:

New employee sponsorship program aims to help high-achievers rise to the top.

GroupM, Australia’s biggest media investment company, has extended its staff training and diversity initiatives with the launch of GroupM Path, an employee sponsorship program that helps accelerate the careers of high-performing individuals across the group, regardless of gender.

The 12-month sponsorship program is an initiative of GroupM’s NCo committee consisting of 14 of the brightest employees aged under 30, whose aim is to make recommendations on critical issues surrounding company culture and staff development.

Participants are partnered with experienced leaders (‘Sponsors’) from across GroupM and are exposed to advice, counsel, as well as people, networks, training and experiences they might not otherwise be.

Elissa Good-Omozusi, Chief HR & Talent Officer at GroupM, said: “The purpose of GroupM Path is to instil confidence, and develop skills and experience for our future leaders. Path will leverage the tremendous potential of all employees not just those who are extrovert in nature or fit the traditional corporate leadership mould. Our aim is to become an agency group that is known for attracting, embracing and sustaining talent in all its forms.”

The first intake for Path is scheduled to commence this October. Agency leaders will nominate top performers they think would benefit from being part of the program, with the aim of identifying employees who may not have the confidence to nominate themselves.
