It’s called Nine because that’s how many times a week they show Two And A Half Men
So following Nine’s decision to cut the running time of the poorly performing Australia’s Perfect Couple in half, comes the equally predictable decision to add yet another episode of Two And A Half Men to the schedule, which now reads like this:
- Monday: 7pm Two And A Half Men; 7.30pm Two And A Half Men
- Tuesday: 7pm Two And A Half Men; 8.30pm Two And A Half Men; 9pm Two And A Half Men
- Wednesday: 7pm Two And A Half Men; 7.30pm Two And A Half Men
- Thursday: 7pm Two And A Half Men
- Friday: Two And A Half Men
Which does raise a couple of questions. First, when the editors of 60 Minutes discovered they’d inadvertently forgotten to have a back up item when the injunction came in on Sunday night, why on earth didn’t they think of throwing Two And A Half Men onto the air?
And second, surely it’s time for some weekend episodes? Nine a week just isn’t enough. The campaign starts here.
I am a little concerned with the launch of Go! that there are no episodes of 2 1/2 men appearing on Go! I dream of jeanie and other shows that they might describe as gold but i describe as … well something that wouldn’t make it through your spam filter!

Apparently Pirate Bay has an entire dedicated network of watercooled terabyte servers dotted across the globe just to handle the mammoth download traffic of 2 1/2 men episodes…

Really, Nine News hasn’t made any traction against the dominant Seven News. They should can that concept and fit an extra hour of Two and a Half Men in per day.

This is the reason I find TV programming generally insulting. If ratings are up they basically try and keep churning out that show to keep them there exactly like The Simpsons as Tim mentioned. There is zero risk taking or diversity.

It’s called NINE because its Prime Time shows are on average at least nine minutes late every night!
Ask them why they do this? Is it to stuff up PVR’s etc?

I support the campaign as well.
Why not have a show on Saturday reviewing the highlights of weeks Two and Half Men episodes. Like TV Burp but just for TAAHM.
And then on Sunday do a 20 to 1 of the Best Two and Half Men shows, chicks, gags, putdowns .. its endless.

I personaly feel sorry for Charly Sheen. Such a good talent in his formative years, reduced to bowling shirts and boob jokes. But I guess that’s how it goes when you blow or all your cash on coke and hookers. I tend to use two and a half men as a gage to find out if I’ll get along with someone.
