Sorbent backs Daffodil Day in singing Aussies campaign
Hygeine brand Sorbent is donating $10 to the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day for every person who uploads to the website a video of themselves singing Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and The Waves.
The campaign is part of a five-year partnership between the brand and the Cancer Council and is the second year the video element has driven donations. The donations will be in addition to the $135,000 already pledged by the brand.
Singing booths have been set up in shopping centres on the east coast of Australia by brand and retail agency Creative Activation, while a mobile booth has been capturing singers on the streets of Sydney and Melbourne and at the AFL this weekend. Singers can also submit their own videos online.
Louise Minshull, brand manager for Sorbent Toilet Tissue told Mumbrella 906 videos had been uploaded to the site so far including those recorded in the singing booths.
She said the song was chosen as it represents the day. “We feel the song embodies the sense of hope and joy and everything Daffodil Day stands for. It’s not a negative kind of day,” she said.
In addition to the activity, Sorbent has released its annual range of Daffodil Day products.
Daffodil Day takes place on Friday August 26.
Great Job Sorbent. Good to see a brand actually supporting the charity not just doing the TVC saying look at me!
