Sweetshop signs comedy director Trevor Clarence for representation in Australia

Global production company Sweetshop has signed comedy director Trevor Clarence for representation in Australia.

Sweetshop describes Clarence as having “the wit of Cristiano Ronaldo and the body of Will Ferrell”, and as someone who “loves making ads”. Sweetshop has also expressed that Clarence brings “a cinematic touch to his comedy”, and “uses his passionate in-depth love of every aspect of comedy and filmmaking to create compelling and hilarious films”.

Clarence has a past as a successful stand-up comedian, feature filmmaker, actor, and musician.

Edward Pontifex, managing director of Sweetshop Australia said: “What can’t Trevor Clarence do? I’m looking forward to finding out as we start on this journey that involves making ads and daily yoga lessons.”

On the signing, Clarence said: “A little while ago I texted my mate Greg Fyson to go for a beer and he said he couldn’t ‘cos he was in a PPM. Then a week later he texted me to go for a beer and I couldn’t ‘cos I was in a PPM. Then I was like… Wait a minute! What if we could be in the same PPM?! The rest is history.”

Wilf Sweetsland, global CEO of Sweetshop said: “It’s a hard act to follow a quote from Trevor in a press release. He’s lovely, supremely talented, ok at writing quotes for press releases, and we are over the moon that he wanted to join the Sweetshop family.”
