Initiative names Marcelle Gomez as Sydney MD after promoting Geoff Clarke to national role
Initiative has promoted national chief implementation and investment officer Marcelle Gomez to be the managing director of its Sydney office.
Initiative has promoted national chief implementation and investment officer Marcelle Gomez to be the managing director of its Sydney office.
The news comes amid a reshuffle at the agency which has seen former Mediacom Sydney managing director Geoff Clarke made chief operating officer of the agency nationally, and Hannah Rook appointed as national head of digital.
Gomez fills a position last held by Annick Perrin, who departed in mid-2014 for a role with Starcom.
Initiative Australia CEO Lee Leggett said in a statement: “The most important part of my job is talent. And the most rewarding part of my job is seeing that talent flourish and grow.
“Marcelle will be an amazing leader for our Sydney business. She cares hugely about our clients, the work and our people. And I’m delighted that we have made this appointment from within Initiative, as Marcelle knows our business extremely well and will accelerate our progress,” said Leggett.
Gomez has been in the IPG Mediabrands family for the last six years with a group director role at UM and general manager of the group’s investment and intelligence business Magna Global.
She said: “Initiative Sydney has built strong momentum this year including the win of The Cancer Council. I am looking forward to helping continue the great work through 2016 and beyond.”
COO of a 60 person business seems like overkill, but good to see plenty of high paid C-Level execs for such as small business.
