Neil and Gaz replace Rhonda and Ketut for AAMI’s Claim Assist app ad
AAMI has unveiled its replacement for Rhonda and Ketut in promoting its Claim Assist app with a new campaign which sees Neil and Gaz, characters featured in the insurer’s ‘Easier Ways to Save’ campaign, using the app after a cat gets stuck up a tree.
The last iteration of this campaign saw Rhonda use the app after an incident involving a lorry full of watermelons.
The latest campaign from Ogilvy & Mather Melbourne sees Neil and Gaz dressed up as a sexy fireman and nurse on their way to a costume party when they hit a tree after swerving to avoid hitting the neighbour’s cat.

Ogilvy & Mather Melbourne general manager Michael McEwan said: “The latest executions further strengthen AAMI’s position as an innovative company that always looks to offer superior service, but also keeps true to the brand’s slightly exaggerated, character-driven method of storytelling.
“By highlighting the hysterical misfortune of Neil and Gaz, the latest creative allowed us to show how AAMI’s customer service can save their customers from the most unbelievable of situations.”
Running across free to air TV and pay TV, the campaign is supported with digital display, outdoor and press.

I like Neil and Gaz. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of those creepy AAMI ads with the man in the bath with his father and in the other ad looking lovingly at the dog, with their blatant promotion of incest and bestiality. Those ads are a bit like the disastrous Hungry Jacks “Makes it better” ads, having slipped out by mistake when someone took their eye off the ball briefly.

The Fireman’s driving a Ford in this ad – but in his other ad he’s selling Toyota. Looks like he no longer believes in the Toyota brand 😉
