AGL pitches creative putting GPY&R on alert

AGL logoEnergy company AGL has put its creative advertising account out to pitch putting incumbent GPY&R Melbourne on alert, Mumbrella can reveal.

A spokeswoman confirmed the pitch to Mumbrella, saying: “AGL is reviewing its creative agency services as part of our normal business processes.  AGL’s current above-the-line agency, George Paterson, Young & Rubicam will be participating in the process.”

Three other agencies will be battling it out for the account against GPY&R who have held the account since March 2007, although the company declined to reveal who they are.

AGL launched a new campaign last month which aimed to make energy more tangible through showing how important energy is in people’s everyday lives.

According to Mumbrella’s sister marketing intelligence guide The Source AGL has a main media spend of $15m.
