Dylan Harrison Saatchi & Saatchi NZ’s new ECD
Dylan Harrison, the creative behind VW’s celebrated “Singing Dog” ad, is to replace Mike O’Sullivan as ECD of Saatchi & Saatchi NZ.
Harrison, an Aussie expat working at DDB London, will start on February 22.
The agency had a turbulent end to the year with the both O’Sullivan and CEO Andrew Stone quitting. Stone was replaced by Nicola Bell in December.
Harrison’s list of awards during his ten years at DDB have included Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, Clio, amd ANDY. His client list included Volkswagen, Marmite, Budweiser and The Guardian newspaper. He was behind VW’s celebrated “Singing Dog” ad.
The global search was carried out by Sydney-based Hourigan International.
Harrison, originally from Melbourne, said: “I can’t wait to get started. Opportunities like this are so rare, I didn’t hesitate. After 13 years in London, I couldn’t resist returning to the region. It’s not often you get the opportunity to work for an agency as creative as Saatchis and in a market as dynamic as New Zealand’s.”
Ian Rowden, chairman and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Asia Pacific, said: “Dylan is a world class creative talent, whose awards were garnered for work that essentially solved big client problems.”
