How to Get Away with Murder drops to 800,000 on second outing as MKR holds strong

How-to-Get-Away-With-Murder-how-to-get-away-with-murder-37620551-3500-2254The second outing of US crime drama How to Get Away with Murder saw its audience drop from 1.086m to 800,000 in Seven’s 9pm timeslot, as My Kitchen Rules continues to deliver the biggest audiences of the night.

Last week’s episode of How to Get Away with Murder was the most time-shifted show of the week, with an extra 168,000 viewers taking its audience to 1.237m.

MKR, in the 7.30pm timeslot, grabbed a metro audience of 1.715m and wast the most-watched show across all the demographics, easily out-rating Nine’s The Block: Triple Threat which pulled a metro audience of 779,000, up from last week’s audience of 724,000.

Both shows beat Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here which was watched by 652,000 metro viewers, according to preliminary overnight metro figures from OzTam. It was up on last week’s audience of 581,000. Last night’s episode of I’m a Celebrity was also simulcast on One.

I’m a Celebrity was also beaten by the ABC’s 7.30 which was watched by 683,000 metro viewers.

Seven easily won the night with an audience share of 25.7 per cent, well ahead of Nine which managed a share of 19.6 per cent. Ten came in third with a share of 13.6 per cent as the ABC managed a share of 10.7 per cent.

On Nine, a new episode of The Big Bang Theory at 8.45pm grabbed a metro audience of 956,000 down from last week’s audience of 1.1m. A repeat episode of the US sitcom at 9.15pm was watched by 695,000, while a second repeat episode pulled a metro audience of 560,000 at 9.45pm.

On Ten, a new episode of NCIS at 8.30pm was watched by 511,000. In the 9.30pm timeslot a new episode of NCIS: Los Angeles grabbed a metro audience of 414,000, while a repeat of NCIS: Los Angeles at 10.30pm had an audience of 244,000.

Meanwhile on the ABC, Catalyst at 8pm pulled an audience of 672,000 and Fake or Fortune? at 8.30pm was watched by 443,000.

In news, Nine News at 6pm won the night with an audience of 1.049m before dropping to 975,000 viewers at 6.30pm. Seven News at 6pm was watched by 953,000, dropping away to 916,000 at 6.30pm.
