Kraft MD Amanda Banfield leaves Australia for global role
One of Australia’s top marketers is leaving the country to take a job in Switzerland.
Amanda Banfield, managing director of the snack division at Kraft Foods Australia, is to relocate to Zurich to take on a global role for Kraft.
The company confirmed the news with Mumbrella, but had not elaborated on the specifics of Banfield’s new role at press time.
Banfield was behind the consolidation of Kraft’s creative agency roster after Kraft’s purchase of Cadbury, and has been an influential figure on the marketing circuit since moving to Australia from the UK in 2009.
She came to Australia to take on a job as marketing director of Cadbury Australia and New Zealand three years ago, and was named Kraft’s marketing director in 2010. She was promoted to MD in May 2011.
Oxford-educated Banfield started her career at Cadbury Schweppes as a management trainee in 1989.
Meanwhile, there is a rumour in circulation that Kraft’s media account in Australia, currently held by Carat, is up for review, although the advertiser says this is not true. Kraft kicked off a global media review of its snack unit, now known as Mondelez International, in August last year.
Kraft’s snack brands in Australia include Oreo, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Trident and Cherry Ripe.
