Bauer reveals launch plan for World Of Knowledge
Bauer Media has revealed further details of its new magazine, World of Knowledge.
The 100-page issue magazine focussing on technology, nature, physics and much more, will hit the shelves on April 17.
Mumbrella and Encore Magazine broke the news of its launch yesterday.
Bauer says World Of Knowledge has a marketing budget of $500,000, with400,000 36-page sampler magazines distributed through selected Bauer titles, supported by in-magazine and radio advertising.
The magazine is based on the Bauer Media Group’s titles World of Wonder in Germany, and Wonderpedia in the UK.
The Australian version, edited by Vince Jackson, will have locally produced content highlighting Australia’s natural wonders, wildlife, unique history and current affairs.
The first issue will cost $4.95. Subsequent issues will cost $6.95.
Goodluck with that Bauer – you do realise people can access and read WIRED and Wikipedia online for free, right?

Sorry, but this is a niche title aimed at a very small audience. Hence why competitors – Cosmos and the other one – are done by backyard operators. Between the three of them they’d be lucky to do 15K a month. And Mike, above is right, if you’re a statistic obsessive egghead then all this is free online anyway…

Maybe the title translate badly from the German, but it sounds like a Grade 4 science book.
