PHD wins NAB media planning from Zenith Optimedia
Media agency PHD appears to have pulled off one of the last major account moves of the year with big four bank NAB reportedly shifting its media planning to the agency without a formal pitch being called.
B&T Today is reporting that Zenith Optimedia will continue with media buying on the $43m account.
And Mumbrella understands that key media owners have already been briefed by PHD on a project for the bank.
Nobody from PHD was available to comment to Mumbrella on the move.
Go PHD..you really are on a winning streak.

Oh great another split account planning in one agency and buying from another. When will clients learn this only causes a huge mess!

I have been keeping an eye on IP addresses, ‘PHD bias’.
Funnily enough yours is, I think, the first from the same IP address – I see you share it with “oh dear”.
Cheers,

Does this mean PHD will open a Melb office. to the best of my knowledge NAB is a Melb client … and the buying is in Melb at ZO.

Here’s a good marketing strategy- don’t lift interest rates!

Interesting how the momentum of media agencies has changed in the last year. OMD were the hot “big” agency and Ikon the hot “small” agency. Now its Mediacom and PHD. Well done to both on improving their fortunes…

Well done Holden… (you’re still dead to me).

It would appear no one from NAB, PHD or Opti has confirmed if this is true or not – to B&T or you – after two days surely the “had not returned calls by publication date” excuse is looking pretty thin.
Reason why this is interesting – I hear that there is no truth to the story – yet it has been syndicated around the world’s market trade press as another victory for PHD.
Hmmm.. much muckraking?

Hi “Journalistic integrity”, based on briefings media owners have received (and I’d already been hearing rumblings from that direction prior to B&T’s story), I’m confident that this is accurate. Unfrotunately, I can’t force someone to return a call if it’s not a topic they want to talk about.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Any update on this Mumbo?
