recipe to riches 2Channel Ten’s branded entertainment show Recipe to Riches, which sees contestants given the opportunity to turn their home recipes into products for Woolworths, is set to return on Tuesday October 21 at 7.30pm.

The second season of the show, which failed to pack a major ratings punch last year, sees two of the judges return chef Darren Robertson and Caman’s Fine Foods founder Carolyn Creswell.

They will be joined by Woolworths general manager of marketing Jess Gill, who replaces Woolworths general manager of customer loyalty Lizzy Ryley, and marketing expert and Ten executive GM Russel Howcroft who replaces Droga5’s David “Nobby” Nobay who left the show following Woolworths handing its creative account to Leo Burnett Sydney.

In a statement Howcroft said: “Recipe To Riches is a terrific show because it gives ordinary Australians the extraordinary opportunity to create a supermarket brand that all of Australia can try. It’s television you can taste the next day.”

The final episode of the branded entertainment show  in its first season had an average of 504,000 metro viewers after launching to 616,000 viewers. It sunk as low as to 481,000 during its 12 week run, according to OzTam.

Contestants compete for a $100,000 prize plus a partnership with Woolworths which will see their product stocked on the supermarkets shelves.
