Russell Crowe’s Noah smashes the weekend box office
Noah has dominated the weekend box office, bringing in a massive total of $4.522 million across 387 screens after premiering on Thursday.
Russell Crowe stars as the biblical character alongside Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins and Harry Potter’s Emma Watson in the movie which tells the story of Noah and his arc.
DreamWorks’ animated comedy Mr Peabody And Sherman Fox was Noah’s closest rival had a total taking of $2.437 million across 508 screens, taking the film’s total Australian box office to $3.778 million.
The box office number one for the previous fortnight The Monuments Men had to settle for third place this weekend, delivering a total of $1.191 across 341 screens.
The George Clooney film has made over $6.5 million at the Australian box office since it’s premiere.
Need For Speed, starring Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, took a total of $589,753 at the box office at the weekend, taking the film’s total Australian box office to $3,759,226.
The Wolf of Wall Street managed to remain in the top 10, taking in $159,367 across 44 screens
