  2. For over 20 years The Australian has been doing some things extremely well. Better than any other newspaper in Australia. If it reported politics sensibly it could be one of the great newspapers in the world and would double its circulation.

  4. The Australian does report politics sensibly. What is doesn’t do is accept as gospel everything the government of the day says is so. And it is inevitably proven correct.

  6. You sure about that Woody? It seems that there is a ‘slight’ bias to the right, there was no shift to the left when Little Johnny was running the show…not that I can recall anyway
Saturday’s Oz is the best paper in the country if you don’t read the ploitical reporting…
    Sunday’s Age…not so much

  8. With respect Woody, you must be getting a special edition to the one that is sold nationally. The paper leans so far to the right you have to stand on your head to follow its logic. That does not bother some people but over half the population will not even look at a copy because of its extended bias.

  10. Woody, there must be more than one ‘The Australian’ because that does hold for the one I get at the newsstand.

  12. Pity it’s never made a cent. Not exactly a good business model.

But then the Australian has never been run as a commercial venture, it’s all about influencing the punters, which is probably profitable if you own other ventures.
