The Works appoints Tim Addington as comms director, Alex Hayes takes on editorship of B&T
Tim Addington, the associate editor of marketing trade title B&T, has joined ad agency The Works as communications director.
Addington will start in the newly created role in September with a brief to manage internal and external comms after five years with the Reed Business Information title.
The move sees B&T’s news editor Alex Hayes take on the editorship after joining the magazine in March this year.
The agency said that Addington’s hire came off the back of a strong period of growth for the agency, which recently won the Woolworth’s Everyday Rewards account.
Damian Pincus, co-founder and creative partner at The Works said: “The agency is on a roll at the moment and we are keen to build on our offer going forward. Having Tim onboard will help the momentum of the business to continue and ensure we are effectively communicating the message about the agency and our client’s work to the wider market.”
Addington commented: “I’ve been watching the growth of The Works with interest for sometime now, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping them realize their ambition to take the agency to the next level. I was attracted by the model of creative thinkers leading client business which is a refreshing point of difference at a time when marketers are increasingly demanding more from their creative partners.”
Tim Addington is a legend. He’ll do well anywhere he goes. Hopefully B&T will be OK with the change…..they should as it was another interesting and capable Tim from England that preceded him (not sure where he is now?) and now its another English bloke being passed the baton. Feels a little like what the South Africans do for the English cricket team….
