Independent PR agency Thrive PR + Communications has appointed founder and Melbourne general manager Louise Parris to the newly created role of national business development director in a bid to strengthen the agency’s business growth following the agency winning the PR account for Ubisoft.

The appointment sees Parris hand over the GM reins of the Melbourne office to strategy director Kelly Stambanis.

Thrive managing director Leilani Abels said in a statement: “Louise Parris has been at the helm of Thrive Melbourne since returning to the business in 2012. Since that time she has overseen the recruitment and development of our talent, strengthened our client relationships and service offering, and has solidified Thrive’s position in the market.

“Kelly Stambanis joined Thrive as the company’s first PR consultant almost fifteen years ago. Over the last two decades in agency PR, she has led some of the Australia’s highest profile PR campaigns and has played a key role in Thrive’s success, helping to set the scene to propel the Melbourne operations.”

The changes follow on from both the Melbourne and Sydney offices picking up new clients and extending existing relationships including Square, Coles Liquor, 3M, VicHealth, CSIRO, Worksafe Victoria and recently won Ubisoft.

The agency was appointed as the national PR agency for global video game publisher Ubisoft following a competitive pitch.

The appointment will see Thrive develop PR strategies for a number of major title game releases and will drive an engaging social influencers plan across the business.
