NewsLifeMedia is reinvesting in Body + Soul in an effort to reenergise its position as Australia’s leading health and wellbeing brand.

The announcement:

NewsLifeMedia’s health and lifestyle publisher Nick Smith today announced a major investment inbody+soul reenergising its position as Australia’s leading health and wellbeing brand.

From Sunday 21 February the new body+soul delivers an editorial direction that makes it even easier for readers to make healthy changes to their lives. The editorial team of experienced journalists join forces with Australia’s biggest talents in health and wellbeing, Michelle Bridges and Steve ‘The Commando’ Willis, to deliver accessible, actionable and achievable information to body+soul’s national monthly audience of 4.363million*.

As well, there is a new focus on solutions to the health issues facing everyday Australians and more recipes, food and nutrition advice to help Australians live better.

Nick Smith said: “Sundays are busier than ever before and the mindset of our readers is now a balance between enjoying the weekend before going back to the weekday routine and getting ready for the week ahead. So we’ve evolved body+soul to meet these needs, ramping up the energy in the lift-out with our editorial delivering a more inclusive approach to allow more Australians to realise their health goals. You don’t have to be a scientist, you don’t have to be young and you don’t have to be on Instagram, you just have to make the decision to start living healthier with body+soul showing you how.

“I’m thrilled that Michelle Bridges joins the team to share her passion for getting fit and healthy at a time in her life when she, like many Australians, is raising a family and working hard to have a balanced, healthy life.”

With a strong and vibrant design to draw readers into the content, the new body+soul launches with four power covers. On Sunday 21 February Michelle Bridges joins body+soul; on Sunday 28 February ‘Our Changing Bodies – Then and Now’ takes a look at how Australian’s have grown in 50 years (two dress sizes and 7kg); Sunday 6 March is ‘The Sex Issue’ featuring surprising results from body+soul’s nationwide survey into what’s happening between Australia’s sheets; and Sunday 13 March features ‘Women who Fight’.

Body+soul editor Fiona Baker said: “We understand that there’s no quick fix to living a healthier life. Each week, our readers can access the information and the inspiration that’s achievable and doable to take the steps to start living healthier today.

“With a focus on good journalism and a hotline to the key health and medical experts, body+soul ensures that what Australians read on Sunday, they can start doing, eating and practicing on Monday. We’re delighted to have Australia’s ‘first couple of fitness’ Michelle Bridges and Commando Steve, as well as experienced journalist Kelly Baker as beauty editor, as part of the body+soul team.”

Starting from today the new look body+soul will be strongly supported by a multi-million dollar marketing campaign across TV and News Corp Australia’s newspapers and digital properties.

Body+soul’s website and social audience work hand-in-hand with the lift-out to provide readers with more information, every day of the week.
