ACP launches online shopping title

ACP has launched an online title targeted at shoppers. Called SHOP Til You Drop, the title is available from April 11.

The announcement:

The May issue of Australia’s highest selling fashion magazine, SHOP Til You Drop, hits newsstands this morning with an Australian first: every single thing in the issue – over 800 items in to otal – is available to buy online.

The special edition has been produced in response to the mass acceptance of online shopping amongst Australian consumers over the past 12 months, and the resulting shift in spending ha abits towards this prominent and rapidly expanding re etail platform. According to eBay Australia, 10 million Australians are now shopping online and a report releassed by research company, Frost and Sullivan, predicts that Australian’s online spending will increase from $12 billion in 2010 to over $18 billion by 2014.

Editor Justine Cullen says: “As the leading shopping magazine we are responding to our readers’ thirst for information and interests. Whether due to the ease and convenience of being able to shop wherever and whenever you want, the incredible range of products available to buy, or the fabulous customer service offered by so many e-commerce siites these days, online shopping has never been m more popular.

“For many of our readers, e-commeerce stores are as much a part of the shopping landscape as their favourite bricks and mortar destinations, so we thought there’d never be a better timee to launch an entire issue full of all the best fashion and beauty buys that our readers can purchase witho out ever having to leave their living rooms.”

As Australia’s only shopping-focuseed fashion magazine, SHOP Til You Drop has alw ways been an avid supporter and promoter of the local retail industry. In keeping with this, the vast majority of the websites featured in the May issue are base ed in Australia, encouraging readers to spend domestically rather than sending their money offshore.

“Given the strength of the Aussie d dollar and the enormous popularity of overseas websites, it would be naïve of us to ignore the fact that o our readers are shopping globally,” Cullen adds.

“However, while producing this issu ue my team and I were constantly surprised and thrilled by the number of brilliant local websites that provide a great range of products, with prices and customer service that make them truly competitive with their int ternational counterparts. I’m so excited to be able to bring these Australian businesses the attention they deserve,” says Cullen.

Covering everything from bargain buys to serious splurges, SHOP’s success lies in the fact that it does the hard work for its readers, editing the market down to the best, hottest and smartest buys available in any given month. This ground-breaking issue – a must-read for regional readers who may not easily be able to access their favourite labels, mothers of small children, and those just too time-poor to hit the stores as
often as they’d like – promises to cement its place as the go-to magazine for stylish women all over the country.

The May issue of SHOP Til You Dr rop is on sale April 11.
