Amaysim launches social-first campaign urging Aussies to switch telcos

Australian mobile provider amaysim has announced a new social-first campaign featuring two talking koalas, via its in-house creative agency Studio amayzing.

‘Better? Better!’ celebrates Aussie creativity, with the campaign made entirely by local talent, including animator Jarod Green and koalas as Aussie, the brand itself.

In the absence of a big media spend like other Aussie telcos, amaysim has focused on social media for the campaign, urging Aussies to consider their mobile provider options as the cost-of-living crisis continues.

Recent research commissioned by the telco found that nearly 30% of Aussies are finding it difficult to pay their mobile phone bills on time. Close to 40% are considering switching to smaller providers like amaysim in the next 12 months, and 50% believed smaller telcos offer more value.

The creative was directed by this research, with the koalas deciding to look around at other options.

“At amaysim, we’re committed to providing exceptional value while celebrating the incredible talent we have right here in Australia,” said Peter MacGregor, the telco’s chief marketer.

“Our new campaign, featuring cheeky koalas, underscores our dedication to affordability, value and better, better talent.”

The campaign is live on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and X.
