Australian mobile provider amaysim has announced a new social-first campaign featuring two talking koalas, via its in-house creative agency Studio amayzing.
‘Better? Better!’ celebrates Aussie creativity, with the campaign made entirely by local talent, including animator Jarod Green and koalas as Aussie, the brand itself.
In the absence of a big media spend like other Aussie telcos, amaysim has focused on social media for the campaign, urging Aussies to consider their mobile provider options as the cost-of-living crisis continues.

Strange that nothing in this piece references the intent to specifically play off Telstra’s recent creative. A smart approach for a low cost challenger. But this budget version could perhaps have done with being even more explicit and funny about this intent, in its craft, to get more talked about.
