Creative agency ODD opens in Australia with Seafolly and Venroy as founding clients

London-based creative agency ODD is opening its doors in Sydney with founding clients Seafolly and Venroy, Mumbrella can reveal.

Led by business director Olivia Kaufman, ODD Australia will handle Seafolly’s 2019 creative campaign and launch leisurewear brand Venroy’s first ever ad campaign.

Olivia Kaufman will run ODD’s Australian operation

Kaufman is returning to Australia after having worked at agencies around the globe including Havas New York, Y&R London and ODD.

ODD, which forms part of the Next15 Digital Communications Group, works across 18 countries and has clients including Burberry, Google, Twitter, American Express, Coca-Cola and Unilever.

Simon Glover, founder and managing director at ODD, said the Australian market was appealing because it has established itself as a leading fashion and lifestyle destination.

“We’re extremely excited to bring our wealth of retail experience to some of the amazing brands here, such as Seafolly and Venroy. And there was no-one better placed to head up the agency than Olivia. Over the last two years, she’s been invaluable in growing our business in London and embodies everything we believe in; so it was no-brainer to have her establish ODD in her hometown,” Glover added.

Adriane McDermott, Seafolly’s head of marketing, said they chose to work with ODD as an agency because it had a “unique strategic approach” and the ability to extend beyond traditional media.

“They’ve allowed us to approach our content strategy with a global lens, to see ourselves not just as a seasonal Australian swimwear brand, but as an aspirational beach lifestyle with an authentic story to share with women everywhere.”

Sean Venturi, co-founder of Venroy, added: “As Venroy makes its first foray into womenswear, it seemed like a perfect time to invest in social and join forces with an agency to help drive growth and broader awareness. We’ve come a long way from the board-shorts which we built our name on and have big ambitions to become one of the leading leisurewear brands in Australia and beyond.”
