Foxtel revamps in-house creative agency: ‘The best knowledge in streaming and sport’

Foxtel has announced a sport and entertainment agency to service its internal and external clients.

On Monday, the company confirmed that the “reimagined” BALBOA, which replaces Fox Creative, will be tasked with expanding its roster, having already done work for clients of Foxtel Media like McDonald’s, Toyota and NAB.

“BALBOA is a team of strategic creatives that have the best knowledge in streaming and sport. We’re looking forward to partnering with valued clients to provide an integrated creative response to briefs, ensuring the output engages the audience,” Michael Nearhos, executive director of marketing and creative, Foxtel Group, said.

“No other creative agency in the game offers the broad range of skills, deep sector experience and audience perspective that BALBOA will offer.”

Guy Sawrey-Cookson, BALBOA executive creative director, added: “BALBOA’s foundation has deep roots in sports and entertainment having been the creative force behind Fox Sports and Foxtel for decades, and the lead creative agency to change the game in streaming by developing the Kayo Sports and BINGE brands for the Australian market.

“Most recently the team also created Hubbl, again changing the game in streaming aggregation.”

Foxtel said that BALBOA’s suite if services will include creative concept through to production and delivery, specialising in brand design, advertising campaigns, promotional reels, original key art, marketing and editorial imagery and assets.

The news comes as Foxtel also announced a partnership with live entertainment company TEG, that will offer Foxtel Reward members access to pre-sale tickets to concerts, as well as sport events, musicals and more.

“TEG is delighted to be partnering with Foxtel to offer its customers exclusive access to some of the biggest and most diverse concerts in the country,” TEG CEO Geoff Jones said.

“At TEG, we believe nothing beats the live experience and this alignment will ensure Australian music fans have every opportunity to see their favourite artists when they are touring locally.”
