Mastercard announces new head of marketing after Kirsty Redfearn departure

Mastercard in Australia has appointed a new head of marketing, after Kirsty Redfearn’s departure earlier this year, Mumbrella can exclusively reveal.

Florencia Aimo joins in the official role of vice president, integrated marketing and communications, Australasia.

In her new role, she will lead marketing efforts across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, managing a team of ten responsible for deliver consumer and B2B marketing, sponsorships, merchant partnerships, and communications.

She will also be responsible for driving Mastercard’s growth and innovation in its marketing approach and overseeing key brand assets and partnerships, including the Australian Open, and Mastercard’s digital brand platform priceless.com.

Aimo will report into Richard Wormald, division president, Australasia, and Julie Nestor, executive vice president, integrated marketing and communications, Asia Pacific.

She replaces Redfearn, who quietly departed the brand in March after over twelve years with the company.

Aimo joins from Marriott International, where she has spent nearly nine years in various marketing roles. In the last two years, Aimo has worked as the brand’s senior area director of marketing for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, where she oversaw all marketing activity across the Marriott’s diverse portfolio of 46 hotels across 15 brands in five countries.

Throughout her tenure, she oversaw the opening of 20 new hotels, and successfully introduced six new brands into the Australian market, including Aloft, Moxy, The Ritz-Carlton, and W Hotels, among others.

Prior to the Marriott, she spent ten years at the Hilton.
