Hahn set to toast entrepreneurs with launch of Jumpstart program

Hahn lager is giving entrepreneurs the chance to bring their ideas to life through a program that will reward the most innovative blueprint with a $20,000 windfall.

Called Hahn Jumpstart, the initiative will invite groups of two people or more to submit their ideas for a start-up venture with the winning entry handed the cash boost in addition to mentor support from entrepreneurs who have already seen their dreams come to fruition.

A spokesperson for Hahn, part of alcoholic beverage giant Lion, said the inspiration for the idea came from its own origins when four mates clubbed together in 1988 and scribbled a plan on a coaster which led to the creation of the beer.

Jumpstart has been backed by Jack Deloso, founder of The Entourage, an online hub for entrepreneurs, and who at the age of 27 has already established two multi-million dollar businesses.

Along with $20,000 for the best idea, the runner-up and a ‘people’s choice’ will each receive $5000 and mentoring.

Lion national marketing director Matt Tapper said: “Hahn Jumpstart is about helping groups of friends take an idea they’re passionate about and making it a reality. We created this program because we believe it’s at the heart of what Hahn is all about; collaboration, passion and taking a risk on a new idea you believe in.

“Hahn Jumpstart will give aspiring entrepreneurs the tools and tips to help make their idea a success.”

Delosa said some of the best ideas are those “thrown around by friends”.

“Don’t be afraid to share even the smallest seed of a thought. Hahn Jumpstart is all about capturing these ideas and providing the platform to help some lucky people bring them to fruition,” he said.

Submissions can be made through hahnjumpstart.com.au with a deadline for entries of September 12. Delosa and a panel of experts will select the winners on December 3.

Mentors include Brad Smith, founder of Braaap Motorcycles and twice named Australian Young Entrepreneur of the Year, founders and owners of Bondi Hardware, The Botanist and So Cal Ben Carroll and Hamish Watts and the creator of app The Best Day, Whitney Komor.
