Nine: Kerri-Anne move is ‘rumour and speculation’

Nine has dismissed as “rumour and speculation” reports that after-breakfast show host Kerri-Anne Kennerley is moving on.

The Sunday Telegraph reported yesterday that the morning show host would be replaced by Sonia Kruger after a nine-year stint fronting Mornings with Kerri-Anne.

Kruger, a former Dancing With The Stars co-host, is thought to be moving to Nine to present Big Brother as well as replace Kennerley.

A Nine spokesman advised Mumbrella to note that the Sunday Telegraph story had no on the record source. “It’s just rumour and speculation at this time,” he said.

When asked if this response was an on-the-record denial, the spokesman repeated: “It’s just rumour and speculation.”

In the article, Kennerley was quoted saying: “I have heard nothing (about being replaced), but that’s to be expected. It’s a beautiful day outside and I’m off to play golf.”

Should she leave the show, Kennerley is expected to move to another role at Nine.
