Gruen Transfer takes a bite out of commercial viewing
The ABC’s strong Wednesday lineup caused a slow night for the commercial networks, with none of them breaking a 30% share of free to air viewing.
As Mumbrella reported earlier, The return of The Gruen Transfer – which offers insights into the Australina advertising industry, debuted with 1.12m viewers.
This made it the seventh most-watched show of the evening, according to preliminary OzTam data.
Along with a strong showing from Adam Hills’ Spicks And Specks, it saw the ABC take a share for the night of 18.3%, one of its biggest of the year to date. Seven had the strongest night, with 29.3%, while Nine took 26%. Ten narrowly avoided being beaten by the ABC with 21.3%. SBS was on 5%

Timbrella – some interesting stats. I think it’s high time commercial TV gets the challenge it deserves (especially looking at the shows that performed well uggh) with some great content on the ABC and SBS.
Was also interesting to see ABC2 repeat the line up last night.
