KiisFM to up practical joke content after hiring Angry Dad creators
KiisFM looks set to up its original video content after announcing it has hired the duo behind the popular Angry Dad Youtube segment.
Mitchell and Dylan Orval have made a name for themselves with the Angry Dad brand, amassing more than a million followers on the Facebook channel where they post videos of practical jokes they pull on their father, and his angry outbursts afterwards.
Radio pranks have been under the spotlight in recent years with several stations including 2DayFM cutting back on pranks following the Royal nurse prank call, when a British nurse took her life after being duped by two presenters who posed as a member of the Royal family and convinced the nurse to pass them on to a senior colleague.
The Orval brothers will now create prank videos exclusively for KiisFM, with the brothers already turning their sights to KiisFM breakfast host Jackie O, with the brothers planting a ‘Honk If You’re Horny’ sign on the back of her car.
Mitchell Orval said: “The ‘honk if you are horny’ is one of our favourite pranks, Dad lost it when we did it to him and I felt a little bit bad picking on Jackie O first up but I knew she’d be such a great sport.”
Dylan Orval said: “We’ve already done some great pranks working with KIIS FM and the Kyle & Jackie O team so I am looking forward to cooking up more fun videos with them.”
The prank producers life:
1. Create original content that captures genuine reactions
2. Get sponsored or bought
3. Create fake reaction videos due to timelines, required camera angles and legal

Will be interesting to see how Nick Chan will handle a senior Bauer Media employee working with his son (who is also employed by Bauer!) being behind this kindergarten grade content.

@Darryl nailed it. Goodbye authenticity.
It is just wonderful that in the original prank video (with his dad) the sign was spelt ‘your’ but in the shot above it has been corrected to read ‘your’e’.
Brilliant.

Nick Chan would only dream of having an audience as big and as engaged as what these boys have. You sound like a disgruntled ex Bauer employee. I think your surname starts with a S, and you couldn’t even give away digital ad inventory.

Phil you have too much time on your hands! This sounds more like a personal attack rather than an opinion. We all know who you are!
