APN Outdoor renews Tullarmarine Freeway contract

APN Outdoor had renewed its Tullarmarine Freeway contract, following a competitive pitch by Australian outdoor media companies.

The Tullarmarine Freeway is one of Australia’s busiest freeways, and is the gateway from Melbourne CBD to Melbourne airport.

As part of the win, APN Outdoor has plans to develop the Tullamarine Freeway offering.

The plans, which are awaiting necessary approvals, include transforming three Landmark panels into digital Elite screens on the overpasses of Victoria and Wilson Streets, Reynard Street as well as Dean and Dawson Streets.

A double-sided portrait digital screen is also being planned north west of Mickleham Road, which will target people travelling to and from the airport.

APN Outdoor’s CEO, Richard Herring, said the new plans for the Tullamarine Freeway come from the “harmonised approach of less is more”.

“Being the first media company to develop on this freeway, we want to continue that growth and development and strategically design each site. They are positioned to align with demand from audiences, placing high-quality advertising opportunities at key intervals of the commuter journey.

“This is an important and strategic win and we look forward to continuing our partnership with VicRoads,” he said.
