Ex-Clemenger BBDO chief strategist launches Neighbourhood Strategy, welcomes former Leo Burnett Melbourne GM to the team

Former Leo Burnett Melbourne GM, Kate Silver, has announced her new venture at recently launched strategy consultancy Neighbourhood Strategy, which has also just welcomed a new client.

Silver left the Publicis Groupe creative agency in January after eight years, citing a desire to spend more time with her family before embarking on a new chapter.

She joins Melbourne-based Neighbourhood Strategy as general manager, where she will work closely with founder and CSO, and former Clemenger BBDO chief strategist, Jacqueline Witts.

The consultancy describes itself as a specialist in helping marketers and agencies solve brand problems, through strategic thinking.

“We call ourselves ‘Neighbourhood’ because we believe a good neighbour is the right kind of relationship you want for someone who works on defining your brand,” Witts explained.

“We know enough to open you to new ideas, but we never lose the clarity an expert on the outside brings.”

Silver said she’s “pumped” to join Witts and the team.

“Jacs and I have a similar perspective on the value of great strategy to fuel brands and creativity, and I think we have a pretty exceptional and unique offering to assist brands and agencies,” she said.

Christine O’Keefe, ex-The Lab Insight and Strategy talent, has also recently joined the firm as strategy and research director, with over 18 years of consumer expertise and experience in behavioural science.

The consultancy has welcomed a new client in retailer Harris Scarfe, as it continues to build its brand and agency partners list. It has been tasked with delivering an extensive brand project for the 175-year-old retailer.

“Nowhere else would we find the depth of brand experience and discipline offered by Jacs and the team to help us redefine the Harris Scarfe brand,” Harris Scarfe’s head of marketing, Laurelle Esse, concluded.
