Christine Salins
I am a widely published freelance writer with more than 30 years’ experience in editing and writing for newspapers, magazines, books and the Internet. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in journalism and worked full-time in newspapers for 22 years, covering everything from local government to the arts, as well as sub-editing for both the news and the features desks.
I spent nine years as Food & Wine Editor for The Canberra Times and oversaw the development of its Food & Wine section from a single black and white broadsheet page to a full colour weekly tabloid liftout of 12 or more pages. In January 2003, I left to pursue opportunities as a freelance food, wine and travel writer.
My articles have appeared in newspapers such as the Sun-Herald and the Sunday Telegraph, and in magazines such as Vacations & Travel, Gourmet Traveller Wine, Australian Good Taste and the Qantas in-flight magazine. I welcome the opportunity to write about any country in the world for any publication: books and travel guides, magazines, newspapers or websites.
I am conscious of deadlines and pride myself on providing clean and accurate copy. I pay particular attention to tailoring my work to the market. Having travelled widely in Europe, America, Asia and the Pacific, I continue to be inspired and awed by everything around me. Travel has such a delicious taste.
Specialties: Feature writing, web copywriting, editing, photography, corporate writing.
