Jack Irish shed audience from its debut.

The ABC’s returning drama Jack Irish saw its audience fall 30,000 from its debut last week, pulling 681,000 viewers.

According to OzTAM preliminary numbers, many prime time shows failed to fire, with 5:00pm game show The Chase out-rating many other non-news shows, with an audience 582,000.

That performance put it above the likes of Nine’s Inside Story at 7:35pm which had 481,000, and RBT at 8:10pm which had 518,000 viewers. A repeat of Seven’s The Big Bang Theory achieved 455,000.

ABC documentary Hatch, Match, Dispatch drew 480,000 viewers.

In news, Seven won both the 6:00pm and 6:30pm bulletins with 964,000 and 925,000, respectively, compared with Nine on 902,000 and 822,000.

In main channel audience, Seven had 19.6%, Nine 17.4%, Ten 15.4% and the ABC 13.3%.
