General manager of Thinkerbell North, Katie Dally is leaving the agency to join Endeavour Drinks Group as GM of marketing – creative, Mumbrella can reveal.

Dally leaves the independent agency to cross to floor client-side, with Group chief marketing officer at Endeavour Group, Jo Rose confirming the move to Mumbrella.

Dally: Swapping advertising for marketing

“Since we announced our new Endeavour Marketing function in September, we have conducted an extensive recruitment process to find the right senior management to lead the omni-channel function.

Rose said there will be more to announce soon

“We are pleased to confirm that Katie Dally will join the Endeavour Marketing team as general manager marketing – creative. Katie will lead our Group’s creative capability by creating a long-term vision and strategy for omni-channel, innovative solutions.”

Endeavour Group split from Woolworths Group in 2021 and created the new marketing set up this year for its stable of brands which includes Dan Murphy’s, BWS, ALH Group, Jimmy Brings, Langton’s and Pinnacle Drinks.

CEO of Thinkerbell, Margie Reid told Mumbrella: “Katie has been a wonderful example of measured magic during her time at Thinkerbell, and helped drive the success of Thinkerbell North alongside Paul Swann, and the leadership team.”

“We wish her all the best in her new role, and thank her for everything she’s contributed to the business in her two-plus years with us. She’s been a great leader at Thinkerbell, our wonderful Redfern home is in great shape, and I’m sure Katie will continue to dazzle at Endeavour.”

Dally was brought in in 2020 from CHEP Network, when CEO Margie Reid was elevated from managing director, with the agency installing GMs across its two offices. The agency said it will reveal its plans in due course following Dally’s departure.

Her agency experience also includes roles at VMLY&R, Ogilvy and Leo Burnett. She also recently graduated from The Marketing Academy.

Dally said after almost two decades in advertising “it’s time to hang up the agency boots and jump the fence for a new chapter ‘client side’ as they say”.

“I’m delighted to be joining Endeavour Group, where in partnership with Jo Rose and the MLT we will weaponise creativity to drive commercial outcomes to deliver our purpose of creating a more sociable future together.

“I leave Thinkerbell Sydney at almost 50 people strong in a mere few years of being on the map, and am so proud of what Margie, Adam, Jim, Cuz, Paul and I have created there together.”

“From a few people hovered around desks, to a serious fit out in Redfern, the shift in infrastructure alone is true testament to an agency worth looking over your shoulder for and I look forward to watching them to continue to deliver Measured Magic over the years ahead.”

Rose said there will be more to announce regarding the complete leadership team in the near future.

Dally will start at EDG on 27 February.
