MEC appoints Tania Caruso as business director

Group M media agency MEC has appointed Tania Caruso as business director. She will run the Colgate business.

The announcement:

SYDNEY, 6 September 2011: MEC Australia has continued the expansion of its Sydney team with the appointment of Tania Caruso to the role of Business Director, heading up the agency’s Colgate account.

Caruso joins MEC from Telstra where she spent three years as Internal Media Strategy Manager, working across the Telstra brand and consumer campaigns.

Prior to Telstra, Caruso was at MediaCom as Business Manager on Procter & Gamble Asia Pacific, and worked across a range of accounts and categories – including NSW Government, Westpac, Audi, Sara Lee and DMG.

Peter Vogel, Chief Executive Officer of MEC, said: “Tania has a unique blend of experience we think will benefit our clients. She brings to this role the strategic rigour and planning gained from her experience working on FMCG brands, combined with the flexibility and speed to market gained from working in the telco category. When you combine the two – strategic rigour and flexibility – you get the result best suited to clients’ requirements today.”

Caruso added: “I’m really excited to be back in an agency and to be part of a business that is going from strength to strength in business wins and award-winning work.”

MEC recently won the media buying and planning account for insurance company Allianz Australia. Its client list includes Mitsubishi, Colgate Palmolive, Paramount, Campbell Arnott’s, Red Bull and Activision Blizzard among others.
