Mount Franklin signs sponsorship deal with Australian Open

Australian water brand Mount Franklin will sponsor the upcoming Australian Tennis Open in a three year partnership deal. 

The announcement:

‘Mount Franklin’ today announced a new three-year partnership to be the official
premium spring water of the Australian Open.

Commenting on the sponsorship, John Murphy, Coca-Cola Amatil Managing Director
of Australian Beverages, said: “The Australian Open is such an iconic part of the
nation’s sporting calendar so we are extremely proud to be a part of this Grand
Slam® event.”

“Tennis players need to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and play at their
optimum level. ‘Mount Franklin’ is thrilled to supply the world’s elite with Australia’s
premium spring water, ‘Mount Franklin’, during Australian Open 2013.”

As part of the arrangement between Coca-Cola Amatil, Tennis Australia and the
Melbourne & Olympics Park Trust, ‘Mount Franklin’ will receive exclusive pourage
rights at Melbourne Park, which includes Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena and the
Melbourne Park Function Centre.

Consumers at Australian Open 2013 will also enjoy a unique ‘Mount Franklin’ on-
site experience. The ‘Mount Franklin’ Waterfall Dome will be the perfect place for
consumers to relax between matches, quench their thirst and receive exclusive
goodies.

“We are excited to welcome ’Mount Franklin, an iconic Australian Brand, to the
Australian Open as our official water supplier,” Tennis Australia CEO Steve Wood
said. To celebrate the partnership, ‘Mount Franklin’ bottles will be given a makeover
throughout January 2013, with various tennis themed packaging designs for the 1
Litre bottle, 500ml bottle and multipacks of twenty.

This sponsorship will also be supported by an above the line campaign to celebrate
the partnership.

Further to the ‘Mount Franklin’ sponsorship, Coca-Cola Amatil also has agreements
in place as “Official Supplier of Non Alcoholic Ready to Drink beverages to the
Australian Open” and 
 “Official Sports drink of the Australian Open” through Coca-
Cola South Pacific’s brand Powerade.
