Nova makes deal with Melbourne International Comedy Festival

A three-year partnership has been signed today between the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Nova 100.

The announcement:

Nova 100 announced a new three year partnership with Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

2013 is Nova 100’s sixth year as partner for the internationally recognised comedy festival. Throughout the festival Nova will feature daily interviews with some of the best comedians, ticket giveaways to the hottest comedians on the circuit and will cover the festival extensively on-line with daily reviews and highlights, interviews and pop up events.

Helen Davies, Nova 100’s General Manager said, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The caliber of new and established performers is incredible and we are thrilled to be able to give our audience unique festival experiences.”

Hughesy & Kate give listeners a taste of the comedy festival with a live outside broadcast, from the Lower Town Hall, on Thursday 28 March from 6am to 9am. In its 10th year, Nova 100’s comedy OB showcases 15 comedians from this year’s festival, a live performance by MKTO and will be streamed live on novafm.com.au.

Comedian Nath Valvo will take his unique standup comedy from the stage to Nova 100 with a series of shows on Friday nights from 29 March. Nova’s Comedy Festival Side Show will showcase international, local and new comedians from this year’s festival in a three hour show from 10pm.

Nova will hold an intimate event, Nova’s ROFL Room at the Trade’s Hall, featuring an array of comedians that are making a name on the comedy circuit on Thursday 4 April and will hold guerilla pop up events throughout the Comedy Festival from 27 March to 21 April.

Nova 100 and novafm.com.au will showcase the best of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 27 March.
